Puck's Alley is named after a restaurant that previously occupied part of the Historic Moiliili property in the late '60s ... |
That particular restaurant, named Puck's Pub and Broiler borrowed its name from a 19th-century satirical magazine called Puck. |
It turns out, that magazine named itself after the mischievous Shakespearean character Puck - who in turn was actually known as Robin Goodfellow in A Midsummer Night`s Dream ... |

| Pictured above are only SOME of the fins we carry IN STOCK! Come in and see the entire collection! |
| A set of fins will not drastically change your surfing skill level, but the right set of fins on the right board will help you to surf waves to the best of your ability. The choices are almost endless and, like fin design itself, the best method is trial and error. Our advice? Swap out your fins regularly and see how it works for you. If you want to try something completely different as an experiment in smaller surf try riding your thruster with just the side fins, or with just the centre fin - it's not going to give you a edge at catching waves at the lineup, but it will give you an idea of just what a difference the three little bits of fibreglass on the back of the board can make. |

 |
| To understandmore about how fins work, you need some basic terminology. The diagram below illustrates the terms used to describe the difference from fin to fin and how these may affect your ride: |
 |
FLEX: The amount a fin flexes from the straight position. Fins with little flex are more responsive and will have more speed and direct drive. Fins with flex are more forgiving and easier to use. Ideally a fin would have a stiffer base for drive and more flexible tip for release |
 |
CANT :The angle of the fin leaning out from the bottom surface of the board. |
 |
FOIL: The hydrodynamic section of the fin from front edge to trailing edge. The foil effects the lift and drag properties of the fin. |
 |
TOE: The angle of the fins in relation to the stringer of the board. |
|
|
Sweep : The angle measured between the vertical line from the mid-point on the base and the line which connects the mid-point of the base to the highest point on thefin. (It's how much the fin is curved backwards!) The more the sweep, the longer the turning arc ... the less sweep, the more pivotal the board will respond. |
Depth: The distance the fin penetrates into the water. It affects the HOLD and CONTROL the fin has during turns. The shorter the depth, the more slide a board will have (turning ability) ... the longer the depth, the more hold especially with center fins! |
Base: The length of the fin where it meets the board. Base primarily affects the amount of DRIVE a board has! The more base, the greater area the fin has to push against the water and get MORE DRIVE. A smaller base results in less drive but a shorter (and quicker) turning arc. |

Since it was first recorded in Hawaii, surfing has taken a variety of forms from windsurfing, body surfing to kitesurfing. But of course, nothing can beat the original wave surfing that remains to be very popular in many parts of the U.S. where coastlines are exposed to the ocean. Surfers love the thrill of riding on and inside huge and tall waves. Whether they be commercial or soul surfers, people engaged in this popular sport really need no more than their surfboard and board shorts (for men) as well as skimpy two-piece suit (for women). |
| However, it’s inevitable that some fashion-conscious surfers want to look good prompting many surf clothing lines to come up, all with different types of surf wear from head to foot for men and women. |
| We believe that this must-have surf clothing must be funtional (really light and comfy since you’re heading to the beach to enjoy the sand, sea and sun) as well as durable (salt water, duh!) AND of course, fashionable. |
| Both locals and visitors will find everything they need for their surfing and beach lifestyle. We carry top-name brands such as, Hinano, Cult, Katin, Birdwell, Sector 9 and Xcel. We are ready to accessorize every beach creature, from the most hard-core big wave surfer to the fresh beginner or just the chilling' "beach-goer". |
| Check out our huge selection of surfboards, boogieboards, leashes, track tops, skateboards, towels, Hawaiianas slippas, bathing suits, surf trunks, sun protection tops, and all sorts of curiosities and vintage memorabilia. |

Using the highest quality materials, their meticulous craftsmanship produces some the best skateboards on the market. They are always researching and testing new ideas in order to help move skateboarding forward. |
| Gullwing Trucks: What makes these trucks so special is that they have two pivot points which allows the trucks to turn twice as sharp and fast as a standard truck. This double action pivot allows the rider to generate speed using their own turning momentum. Gullwing trucks are a sidewalk surfers dream. Ask anyone that has ridden them and the truth will be told. |
| MiniLogo decks: These are the finest in the skateboard industry. This means no nonsense quality and performance at a rock bottom prices. No frills, no hype, just performance and fun, guaranteed! |
